Scientists are trying to determine whether there’s a link between last year’s Gulf of Mexico oil spill and a spike in dolphin deaths along the Gulf Coast. Sixty-seven bottlenose dolphins have washed up on Gulf beaches over the past few weeks. More than half — 35 — are babies. The bodies of virtually all pregnant women across the United States carry multiple toxic chemicals. Scientists at the University of California, San Francisco detected some chemicals banned since the 1970s and others used in common products such as non-stick cookware, processed foods and personal care products.
